The University has recently conducted a comprehensive review of its Information Security Strategy. Penalties for data breaches, as a result of poor information security practices are due to significantly increase. In addition to the impact on organisations, poor information security awareness has a significant impact on individuals. Individuals that are the subject of data breaches commonly become the victim of identity theft, social engineering attacks, misrepresentation, fraud and many other adverse effects.
To reduce the risks of a data breach impacting UEL and it's users Information Security Awareness Training is now mandatory.
To be able to demonstrate to regulatory bodies that the training has been undertaken by staff, a record of completion will be retained in personnel records.
