This module has been specifically designed to explore a range of contemporary comparative issues in the ever-changing area of social policy. You will develop some key skills and the practical and theoretical knowledge gained will allow you to be effective practitioners in future employment and training settings.

It is highly stimulating module that encourages you to step outside of your comfort zone and be critical. Most of you taking this course have already taken Introduction to Social Policy and many will go on to take our policy-related courses next year. These form a coherent introduction to Social Policy. Others may be taking it as a ‘stand-alone’ course and I hope it will be an interesting and topical subject to you all.
